Preparing Your House For Sale

Once you've decided to put your house on the market, you should start thinking in terms of making you house appeal to as many potential buyers as possible. Start with the most obvious items. Is there any damage to the home? Is it generally in good condition? If there are any doors off hinges, holes in the walls or other obvious defects, repair them. Consider cosmetic fixes. If you painted your living room pink or a fiery orange, you might want to consider repainting the room an off-white color. Don't let your personal feelings get in the way of selling your house. People don't have to have the same taste that you have. Remember, you aren't going to be living in the house any more, and since you don't know the tastes of the people who might be inclined to buy the house, it's best to appeal to as broad of a range of people as possible.
